About / FaoiI am a children's author, screenwriter and performer. I believe that giving children access to culture and creativity helps them make sense of the world and of themselves. I've written children's books both as Gaeilge and in English. I love meeting the young readers and audiences I write for and regularly facilitate workshops and visit schools and libraries.
Although a Cork City native, I spent much of my childhood in the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht in Kerry where my father's family are from and I'm proud to be an Irish speaker. Gaeilge agus fáilte anseo! When I'm not writing books, shows or cooking up ideas, you'll find me in the sea, doodling in my sketchbook or most likely running around after my young and very energetic son on the beaches of Tramore, Co. Waterford. |
