Muireann Ní Chíobháin joins forces with GIY’s Michael Kelly and award-winning illustrator Fatti Burke to launch a riotous, fully-illustrated kid’s allmanac guide to growing and cooking food through the year. GIY’s Know-it-Allmanac is a month-by-month guide to growing, cooking and eating food. It focusses on seasonal foods for growing and eating and highlights each month’s significant dates, likely weather, along with ‘get crafty’ projects and garden to-do lists. It also details the ‘Veg Hero’ of the month offering fun facts and trivia about the monthly veg hero. Plus details how to grow the monthly veg hero from sowing to growing and harvesting; along with an introduction to some of the basics of growing your own food. The is even a ‘ Not So Great Poetry Corner’ which features the narrators really bad poems! Finally, the extra fun part, the ‘Eat’ section of the book shares details of vegetables, fruit and herbs that are in season in the garden and details some delicious recipes for the kitchen that children will love to get stuck into and enjoy what they have grown.
